Superb CANYON in a unique and exceptional setting, the Gorges de GALAMUS canyon is located on the border of the Pyrénées Orientales and the Aude in St Paul de FENOUILLET and Cubière-sur-Cinoble in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

The Gorges de Galamus is located in a limestone massif, which was formed during the Jurassic. The Agly eroded the limestone rock and ended up cutting two gorges, those of Galamus and those of La Fou which is located downstream from Galamus.

The Agly river takes its source towards the Pic du Bugarach, emblematic mountain of the region with its many legends.

- Camps in Agly, St-Paul-de-Fenouillet, Ansignan, Caramany, Latour-de-France, Estagel, Case-de-Pène, Espira-de-l'Agly, Rivesalte, St-Laurent-de-la-Salanque , Torreilles and Barcarès.

It ends up flowing into the Mediterranean Sea making it a river.

The length of the river is around 80 kilometers for an average flow of 5 cubic meters.

This very easy canyon consists of jumps, slides, swimming. All the difficulties are avoidable, ce  which makes it a perfect canyon to discover the activity.

Two parts are to be distinguished in the canyon of Galamus. The first part is quite open with a sequence of transparent water basin where many jumps will be possible. Then comes the second part, less playful but prettier, the collection is deeper and narrower until it ends at a narrowness of 3 meters wide and 150 meters high.

However, thrill seekers will still have several jumps (none mandatory) to get their teeth into (up to 78d_metres)
